2025/10/20
On September 18th, the Competence Centre for Work and Artificial Intelligence (KompAKI) concluded its five-year journey with a closing event presenting key findings, practical applications, and an award for worker-friendly AI.
On 18 September, the closing event of the Competence Centre for Work and Artificial Intelligence (AI) took place under the title ‘KompAKI Future Forum: Experience AI, Shape Working Environments’. Researchers, business partners and guests gathered at the Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg-Haus in Darmstadt to reflect on the project's successes and discuss future directions for human-centred implementation of AI in the workplace.
Highlights of the event included keynote speeches by Associate Professor Dr Bettina Abendroth (TU Darmstadt) on ‘AI in the world of work – a human-centred perspective’ and by Professor Dr Bernhard Humm (Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences) on ‘Artificial intelligence – magic or technology?’. Our research partners conducted demonstrations and our industry partners presented practical applications of AI in various work contexts in interactive sessions. Serviceware SE, WIKA and SimPlan presented their AI use cases in the areas of process management, production planning and value stream mapping. Experts from KompAKI took part in a pitch session and summarised their results and findings. The AI Award was presented to DATAbility GmbH for its employee-friendly AI implementation.
KompAKI would like to thank all participants and partners for their commitment and support over the past five years and for making this conclusion possible.
