Sarah Schwindt-Drews presented her research findings for the IAD at the DDI Conference 2024 in Michigan

This year's International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention (DDI) took place at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor from 22 to 24 October. As a representative of the IAD, Sarah Schwindt-Drews presented current research findings on the topic of mental models in the field of automated driving. Under the title ‘From Concept to Action – Measuring General and Applied Mental Models in the Context of Automated Driving’, she and Bettina Abendroth presented innovative approaches for measuring mental models.

The DDI conference, which is organised every two years by the SAFER Vehicle and Traffic Safety Centre (Sweden), the Université Gustave Eiffel (France) and the University of New South Wales Sydney (Australia), is a central meeting point for experts from industry and science. The event provides a platform to discuss the latest developments and challenges around distraction and inattention in road traffic.
