You recognize the Mechanical Engineering building (L1|01) by its huge red gear wheel in front of the building. Please use the entrance near the gear wheel. IAD is situated in the 5th floor.

How to get to the Campus Lichtwiese

Travel by car:

Leave express highway A5 (Frankfurt/M – Heidelberg, Basel), or A67 (Köln, Wiesbaden – Mannheim) at the exit “Darmstädter Kreuz”, direction to “DA-Stadtmitte”, and follow the signs to “TU Lichtwiese” in the eastern direction towards Aschaffenburg and “Vivarium”. The university area “Lichtwiese” is situated on the eastern outskirts of the city.

Parking costs 2.50 € per day.

Travel by train:

At Darmstadt's main train station (Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof) stop long-distance trains as well as regional and interurban trains, buses, and street cars. From the railway station you can take a taxi to “TU Lichtwiese”, or take Tram 2 with the direction “TU Lichtwiese/Campus” (terminal stop). You can also use the train Odenwaldbahn RB 81 to “TU Lichtwiese/Bahnhof”.

Travel by plane:

The airport Frankfurt/Main is situated about 25 km away from Darmstadt, and it will take 20 minutes on A5 to arrive at Darmstadt by car, or go to Bus Station No.14 and take HEAG-AIRLINER Shuttle Bus directly to Darmstadt's main train station (“Darmstadt Hauptbahnhof”). Take Tram 2 with the direction to “TU Lichtwiese/Campus” (terminal stop).
